Jeffrey Jarvik, MD, MPH, Professor of Radiology and Neurosurgery at the University of Washington, Seattle, will be this year’s esteemed Newton Lecturer. Dr. Jarvik is an internationally recognized expert in MRI of the spine and a thought leader in health services and comparative effectiveness research. He has extensive experience in the conduct of observational and randomized controlled trials of devices and procedures, and the results of his work in technology assessment and back pain have been published in prestigious journals including JAMA, The Lancet and the New England Journal of Medicine.
UCSF Neuroradiology’s T. Hans Newton Lecture is held annually in memory of the founder of the Neuroradiology section, T. Hans Newton, MD, who served for more than 50 years in the Dept. of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging at UCSF.
